BOROUGH, TOWN AND PARISH COUNCIL ELECTIONS - Thursday 4 May 2023

Elections for all seats on High Peak Borough Council and Town and Parish Councils in the Borough are taking place on Thursday 4 May. 

Potential candidates briefing session - Wednesday 1 March 2023

If you are considering becoming a candidate in these elections, this session is an invaluable guide to the process. Details regarding the nomination process, and other matters, will be explained. The briefing will be delivered in person in the Octagon lounge, Pavilion Gardens, St Johns Road, Buxton SK17 6BE or online via Teams at 6.00pm on Wednesday 1 March 2023.  Anyone wishing to attend via Teams will need to pre-register an email address.

Voter ID

The UK Government has introduced a requirement for voters to show photo ID when voting at a polling station. This new requirement will apply for the first time in England at the local elections on Thursday 4 May 2023. .

How to vote in person

A Poll card for each member of the household who is registered to vote will be delivered before the election. The Poll card will tell you the date of the Election, where your Polling Station is and the hours it will be open. You do not need to take your Poll card with you to be able to vote.

  • A list of accepted ID is available on the Electoral Commission's website. Anyone who does not have one of the accepted forms of ID will be able to apply for free ID online or by completing a paper form.
  • Voters will be able to use expired ID if they are still recognisable from the photo.

THE DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 (LADYBOWER, VARIOUS ROADS) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2023

Derbyshire County Council hereby gives notice that it proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be, in respects of roads in the Borough of High Peak:

No Waiting At Any Time

A57 Snake Road (North side)

From a point approximately 365 metres west of its junction with Derwent Lane in an easterly direction to a point approximately 258 metres east of its junction with A6013.

From a point 303 metres east of its junction with A6013 in an easterly direction for approximately 57 metres.

A57 Snake Road (South side)

From a point approximately 365 metres west of its junction with Derwent Lane in an easterly direction to a point approximately 441 metres east of that junction.

From a point approximately 676 metres east of the junction with Derwent Lane in an easterly direction to a point 360 metres east of its junction with A6013.

A6013 (East side)

From its junction with A57 in a generally southern direction to a point approximately 32 metres south of its junction with Lydgate Lane.

A6013 (West side)

From its junction with A57 southwards for approximately 312 metres.

From a point approximately 402 metres south of its junction with A57 to a point approximately 190 metres north of its junction with Bemrose Gate.

From a point approximately 97 metres north of its junction with Bemrose Gate in a northerly direction to a point 126 metres north of that junction.

From a point approximately 25 metres south of its junction with Bemrose Gate in a northerly direction to a point 70 metres north of that junction.

From a point approximately 51 metres south of its junction with Bemrose Gate to a point approximately 32 metres south of its junction with Lydgate Lane.

Lydgate Lane (Both sides)

From its junction with A6013 to a point approximately 60 metres west of its junction with Steward Gate.

Parsons Gate and Steward Gate (Both sides)

from the junction with Lydgate Lane northwards for a distance of 10 metres.

New Road (Both sides)

From its junction with A6013 in an easterly then south easterly direction for a distance of approximately 25 metres.

Bemrose Gate (Both sides)

From the junction with Lydgate Lane in a northerly direction for a distance of 10 metres.

From the junction with the A6013 in a westerly direction for a distance of 20 metres.

 

A copy of the Order and documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection at the County Councils principal offices known as County Hall on Smedley Street in Matlock between 9am and 5pm on each day from Monday to Friday and on request by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots.
