Enforcement procedure

Bamford with Thornhill Parish Council is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing those Regulations. If you’re not happy with how we respond to your complaint, please contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).

Compliance status

This website is not currently fully compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard. The website's content has been updated, as far as is reasonably practicable, to meet the accessibility standard, but the website’s underlying structure is of a bespoke design for which updating is no longer available. The latter will be addressed when the Parish Council next purchases a new website.

The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services. Any new documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.

Disproportionate burden

Given the Parish Council’s small annual budget, we believe that purchasing a new website now would be a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations, bearing in mind the likely low number of potential users requiring the website to be accessible. This matter will however be kept under regular review.
