Councillor

Suzanne Gillott

I have lived in Bamford for 27 years. I have always considered myself part of the community in Bamford and the Hope Valley and have previously been involved with committees promoting the ethos of the village and Hope Valley communities.

I was born in London and started my career qualifying as an Adult Nurse, then marrying and moving to north Sheffield where I lived for 12 years, further qualifying as a Children’s Nurse then moving into Education, Learning and Organisation Development within the NHS over the last 20 years.

I am always happy when I am outdoors, and enjoy walking, swimming, architectural buildings history, travelling and just meeting people and listening to their stories.

I consider Bamford an amazingly beautiful place. Being part of a National Park very close to sprawling cities can have its strengths and challenges; we can continue to be a very welcoming village and encourage mutual respect to both our communities and visitors that will help us grow further. For that reason, I am pleased to be on Bamford with Thornhill Parish Council and to contribute to a welcoming village.
