Councillor
Michael Bell
I was born near London and went to university there but in 1981 came to Sheffield to train as an orthopaedic surgeon. I fell in love with the area and was lucky enough to be appointed as a consultant at Sheffield Children’s Hospital in 1986. I moved to Bamford in 1990 when we completed the building of our house. I have retired completely from all forms of work so now have time to support the community where we live.
We love walking with our dogs around the local countryside and are in favour of others enjoying the Peak District. However this cannot be to the detriment of the people who live here. My two boys played football on the Rec and I would support programmes to get our children involved in physical activities.
I am a keen golfer and have been a member at Sickleholme for 30 years.
