Councillor
Bryan Davies

I’m a retired CEO from the world of Industrial Automation. My wife and I moved to Bamford five years ago after spending 27 years of our working lives in the Netherlands.
Although born in Lancashire we have always considered Derbyshire our home since initially moving here in 1983. I have long term links with Bamford since that time through my business connection with Carbolite, when they were based in the Mill.
In 1992 my employer asked me to relocate to The Netherlands to run their companies in Holland and Belgium. However, we maintained our links with Derbyshire and the Hope Valley with frequent visits back.
Much of our time is now occupied as volunteer couriers for Anthony Nolan, transporting stem cells nationally and internationally for life saving transplants for patients with blood cancers.
During the past 5 years we have made many good friends in the village and have also recently become involved in the newly established Repair Cafe which gives us even further opportunity to meet more people.
As we are here for the long term I welcome the opportunity to become involved in local matters and help in any way that I can to continue the positive development of Bamford and Thornhill for its residents and visitors.
