I grew up in East Yorkshire and Kent, and came to Sheffield to study Dentistry. After a number of years I moved into Biology teaching and teacher training, and writing for educational publications. I've lived in Bamford since 2012, but have spent a lot of that time away training teachers overseas. At home I’ve been involved for several years as a volunteer teaching refugees.
Travel and the work were stopped by the pandemic, and now I’d very much like to contribute more to village life. Traffic, transport and sustainable energy solutions are some of the areas that interest me, but mostly I’d like to be able to help identify and resolve everyday issues that affect everyone in the village.
I enjoy singing and gardening, and I’ve now become a keen e-biker, exploring the quieter trails and back lanes around Bamford and beyond. An increasing brood of grandchildren also keeps me busy.
